Performance Coaching

Performance coaching that we provide helps people who have to perform. Performing or a performance can take a number of different formats. Musicians might give a recital, a sports person might have to perform in a match, an actress might play a part in a stage performance and a business person might have to perform whilst giving a business presentation. 

The services we offer in relation to performance include help with: performance anxiety, stage fright, performing under pressure, confidence and focus, event preparation, motivation, perfectionism and confidence. 

Everyone gets nervous before and during a performance. This is a normal part of performing. If things go wrong it can affect our ability to perform in subsequent performances. Sometimes it can stop us performing all together. If you are experiencing overwhelming anxiety which is affecting your ability to perform we can help. 

We utilise a number of different approaches to assist with these types of difficulties. These include: visualisation, eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing therapy/resourcing, neuro linguistic programming and mindfulness.

Performance coaching lasts as long as it is helpful for you or when you have achieved your performance coaching objectives. You might work on several things or being working towards a long term goal. Some clients dip in and out of performance coaching. 

How does EMDR therapy work?

EMDR for performance work well for things like performance anxiety and stage fright as well as strengthening  and creating internal resources. It helps you to rehearse a performance as part of preparation and fears you might have relating to a performance.

How can I get the most out of performance coaching?

The important thing with performance coaching is to put into practice what we might have worked on in a session. It is important to be consistent with performance coaching and keep an open mind.
