Psychotherapy Counselling Hertfordshire
We offer Psychotherapy and Counselling in Hertfordshire. This is my home based practice which is in Cuffley Hertfordshire. Our psychotherapy counselling Hertfordshire arm compliments our London based practice. We offer integrative and client centred psychotherapy. Therapy takes place in a calm quiet confidential, nurturing and empathetic environment.
What is the difference between Counselling and Psychotherapy?
Both ways of working are about talking through your difficulties under the care of a qualified therapist. Sharing a difficulty outloud and having it witnessed by another person helps us to process difficulties and become less problematic. Counselling might be used to address more short term difficulties for people who have experienced a problem which is part of life. An example might be bereavement. In psychotherapy a person talks through their difficulties which might be more deep rooted and take more time to talk through. Examples might include difficulties regarding attachments in childhood.
Difficulties related to Covid-19 I have helped clients with recently
Covid-19 has meant that we have all had to make a number of adjustments to our everyday lives. We have had to isolate for long periods of time and our usual methods of relaxing and finding meaning in life have been disrupted. As a result of these changes some of the clients I have seen recently have had specific difficulties as a direct result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Examples of things i have helped clients with recently include: traumatic bereavement, social anxiety, stress and anxiety caused by redundancy and trauma from domestic abuse.

Psychotherapy Benefits
Authenticity
Psychotherapy can help you connect with your true nature and become more authentic. This means that there is more congruency between your true self and the persona you present to the world.
Clear Thinking
Psychotherapy can help to calm down our thinking as we develop other qualities in order to mediate difficulties we come across in our daily lives.
Balance
Once you get to the root of the difficulties and you have the chance to process them in a safe environment you are able to feel more in balance. You can reach a state of homeostasis.
Contentment
When we discover and accept who we are through a psychotherapeutic process we are able to feel more accepting of ourselves. This enables us to accept where we are and make the changes we might need to make for a better future.

How Long Does Therapy Last?
Psychotherapy takes time and a commitment to therapy and yourself. Psychotherapy helps support you through your process. This process varies from person to person and takes a different amount of time for each person. How long psychotherapy lasts also depends on what difficulties you have and your readiness to process these difficulties.
What Does A Psychotherapy Session Involve?
Psychotherapy is a talking based approach. In a session you will have the time and space to explore the difficulty you are having in a safe environment. As part of a session you might work with your, imagination, creativity, thoughts and body.
